被稱作「護國神山」的中央山脈，以臺灣島的屋脊著稱，這條險阻的山徑有138座超過3000公尺海拔的高峰，南北全長超過300公里；古明政與周青二位越野跑者，年齡相差三十歲、橫跨不同世代，卻同樣擁有挑戰極限的赤子之心。他們歷經三年來的訓練、探勘，身影橫越一座座山嶺。然而，日復一日的疲累與負傷，積累著壓力，一度令人懷疑自我。山脈的挑戰和人生起伏一樣，如何克服曲折艱困，超越自我？ 導演楊守義透過攝影機，紀錄下兩人史上8天16小時最快完成的中央山脈越野縱走。鏡頭不僅捕捉了臺灣屋脊的綿延山巒，串連起中央山脈的面貌，並審視每一座山的臉龐與它們的名字，更呈現人與山的緊密情誼。兩人的不同溫度、不同智慧，在高山上沿途和補給隊配搭、精確籌算腳程距離，從開始、懷疑甚至爭執，到最終達標，踏出的每一腳步，都是如同人生般的赤心巔峰。
